1 Minute Me

So I did a little more reading on what I need to do for my final piece of work in Digital Media, my “1 minute me” needs to consist of;

Branding – I need to create a logo for my profile.

Motion Graphics – Make my profile move and composite the audio-visual elements.

Augmented reality/projection mapping – Find a location in which is relevant to me shoots some footage and then use it as a background plate on which to overlay my animated profile.

Visual Effects – Use my footage to composite 3D tracking on my profile.

To end it all with a PDF that is styled to match my personal branding, this is an evaluation on my process and will include links to videos and images to support my work and the development discussed.

 BRANDING!

Firstly the logo, I’ve been looking and thinking about how I’m going to create my logo which will represent me. I was looking at famous logos and the logos I really like are the ones which have hidden messages in them such as;

I really love the fact that you read the logo and it shows you physically what you are reading, the “BarCode” logo having the word Bar in bold and standing out but not only that but the whole word bar and code most people would read and think a product barcode in which you scan. Where as this is a trick and has actually taken the word apart and is actually a bar so they have connected both words for the logo. The other logo “Black Cat” is such a simplistic logo which is what I would like to create but at the same time have a catchy look to it like the “Black Cat” one. Just two simple words and creating a cat between the letters C.

 

My idea for my logo will consist of…..

I had a brief idea of making my logo rather simple but effective at the same time, so looking at some logos I thought about the idea of having multicoloured circles like they are drawn and overlaying each other. Then the middle would be my name but have a little twist, I wanted to have some sort of illusion to my name in the logo. The picture below which has my initials was just a rough idea but after realising I wanted an illusion type of logo I took to the internet.

 

I posted some pictures at the top of the blog for example the barcode logo which had an illusion to it was similar to what I wanted to recreate, I found some more pictures online which seemed very complicated to create as I wanted just a simple one.

But after looking for a long time I came across these logos, the black dog logo for me is really simple which is what I love about it. You don’t have to think about it to much the fact the logo has the name of the company and a dog inside the words connecting it all as one really just makes it all for me. The love clip is very similar to the black dog idea, they have taken the word outside the box and created something so simple which is what I would like to do have a simple logo with the word and picture connecting as one.

MOTION GRAPHICS!

After looking at the projection mapping and thinking about doing something along the lines of me growing up and media, I looked online for ideas and came across this video which I liked some parts and would create some parts in it for my project. One part was how the buildings grew I would like to create a college and university which will represent me going to them and will talk about them. One major part of the video which I really love is how the world is going round and showing tourist attractions, I have a similar idea of maybe having time going round and have major parts of my life on there like how I mentioned before with college, university, jobs, experience etc.

AUGMENTED REALITY/PROJECTION MAPPING!

Brief idea of going through my whole life from a baby up to where I am now and to talk about my work within the media world. I was looking online for videos to do with projection mapping and found a lot of interesting videos, one I had seen before on the television which is the Aldi car having the projection on it make it look like its moving.

One I found which gave a little idea was Kat Von D – Live Face Projection Mapping and it is projecting on to her face and when it first starts a butterfly goes across her face and lands on her eyes which leads to her blinking and it moving with her eyes, I found this fascinating and thought that maybe some how I could use this in my project. At first I thought about using it to start my video like me sat down and move my head up and my face fills with something, then in the Kat Von D video I noticed how one of the effects was a wrinkly face which peeled away. This gave me the idea of having my face as a baby and changing with pictures of me as a kid and I could talk, to then end the effect with my final face now and talk about my life in 1 minute.

After having the idea of using projection mapping and face’s I researched a little more and came across this model who had her face transformed to have digital make up. This is similar to how I would create my projection mapping on my face, one part I really liked was towards the end was real time reflection luri, the way that she moves her face and the triangle type reflection on her face moving with her looks so futuristic and could be used extremely well but maybe not for my project.

 If you click on the picture you can see that obviously its not me but this infographic is something similar to what I would like to do with the timeline by going along and explaining things in my life but to a short brief and can have little animations and graphics with the achievement I have got.

About me?!

So after not turning up to my workshop again and realising that I had not been posting much on my blog. I started to create a little something about myself to start working with, although its only small bits of information about myself its a start. From this I feel that I could maybe start looking at what I may include in my final piece of work.

 

 

 

 

 

Im still not really sure what I am supposed to do for my final piece of work, but hopefully doing a little diagram of myself may actually help me understand more about myself and give me more option to use in the end result of my work.
