Logo Change

So after think about the logo and knowing that it is really important and it needs to stand out.

I thought about what children and families mean, the one main thing is love and how when you are a little child holding your hand is a very comforting thing.

At the moment I’m really liking the geometric look on images, so I thought about having a hand holding a heart but having it geometric. This for starters is completely different and unique, plus will stand out for the audience.

This is what I came up with for a logo so far, I like it but feel like there is still improvements to be made.

Promotional Video Ideas

So before even thinking of ideas for my promotional video, I knew that Im very average with after effects and drawing. So I wanted to think of an idea that will still push me with after effects and other softwares but still be able to produce a decent piece of work.

So I was looking online at different types of animated promotional videos, I came across a lot of 3D animation. But I was really interested in maybe doing a infographic/typography type of promotional video. First that would mean not having to draw little characters for the story and just have words that can have a little character to them.

This is the video that stood out to me, although it does have little characters like the girl but its only really a silhouette of her not much detail with her actual look.

I started to look more in to kinetic typography,

I saw this video along time ago but like the fact that the music is going with the way that the whole story is going at the same pace.

So after trying to attempt the budget, I realised I needed to do some serious research when it came to the marketing side and advertisement area.

So I started to look at how much it would cost to advertise on Facebook and other similar apps that the target audience would be using at the current time.

this website had rather a lot of information about creating the perfect app and such simple areas like making the description great for the target audience, use social media and giving the app away for free.

Which made me think about how to make money back from the app if it was available for free, so because parents need to have money for there children having the app free will help massively. The way for me to make money back would be to have other advertisements on the app which will be a start with money. Lastly everything on the app will be free apart from maybe when wanting to send the final calendar to an email address charging a little amount such as £5 each account?

This got me thinking even more about the best ways to advertise my app for free and save spending even more money.

I never thought there would be so many different ways to get your app promoted for free, but apparently there is. I suppose with having an app its not always what you know about the software, app or target audience is more of who you know as well.

Direct costs with my work is pretty simple as I already own my Macbook and the software is free from the university or if I didn’t have the software then it is still available for free at the university. So there would be know need for costs in that section.

Travelling, I haven’t really had to travel any where for my work apart from to the library or university which is free by walking.

I thought for a while about how I could have promotional goods, but because its about children and what did I like as a child was my school book bag and having awesome key chains or friendship bracelets hanging from it. So this gave me an idea to have a keychain to promote the app, I saw this key chain online and it reminded me of a family tree which can relate to the app a because children grow and it involves family.

I was looking online at different types of websites I could try and use, at the moment I really love the scrolling one page websites. I’m not the best at dreamweaver or coding websites I have some experience from college but thought if I was to find a free website and change the website round to suit me that way I am still coding the website.

On the website I would like to explain with a little animated video about the app also have some fun little facts for new parents to end the website on.

This video is completely nothing to do with children but the animation involved is something which I would like to do with my work.
